When you’re playing golf with someone you don’t know, it’s pretty important you keep your cool. When I first started playing golf, which wasn’t until I was 28 years old, I didn’t want to go out and embarrass myself around my brother and friends, so I went to the golf course by myself. It’s fair to wonder if there’s enough competition on the other side of the ball, but we ask that every week with the Jets, right? “I hate myself, sometimes, I love myself.” These are song lyrics that I almost had tattooed on me at one point. It also adds additional risk to starting him. Not by coincidence, just 11 of his carries this year have accounted for 44.9 percent of his rushing totals. There have already been eight different running backs who’ve totaled at least 57 yards on the ground against them. The Primer: Week 16 Edition (2019 Fantasy Football) By Mike Tagliere on December, 19th 2019 . Even knocking that down to 30 for this game wouldn’t be good for Chubb, who has very limited involvement in the passing game. If you know the algorithm to predict Green’s target share, congrats. Davis has only seen four of them himself, while A.J. Titans opponents have thrown the ball 39.8 times per game, so if we get near the 20-percent target share that Hooper has had multiple times this year, we should hope to get 6-8 targets. This week is a lot different, as Smith will be going against the team that’s allowed the second-most fantasy points to the position. He racked up 15 opportunities in the first game post-Bell and was more efficient than usual as he totaled 70 total yards on them. Stay tuned for updates. THE PRIMER: WEEK 6 . Gibson is getting the role we’d hoped he would as the season went on, as he played a career-high 45 snaps on Thanksgiving. If you removed the one blip on the radar in Week 2, we’d be talking about Fuller as a top-10 wide receiver for the rest of the season. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him finish as a high-end QB2 or high-end QB3, so we have to go somewhere in between. The matchup this week is a good one for him to bounce back in the target column. If you look at production on the ground alone, the Cowboys have allowed 215.8 fantasy points, or 19.6 points per game. The Jets starting cornerback trio of Bryce Hall, Lamar Jackson, and Arthur Maulet have allowed 28-of-41 passing for 296 yards and two touchdowns over the last two weeks. The best game a slot receiver had against them was Jerry Jeudy‘s two-catch, 61-yard, one-touchdown performance, and that touchdown came on the perimeter. They were doing something that they didn’t even believe would lead to the opportunity they received. Meanwhile, the Steelers wide receivers are used to splitting a monstrous 27.8 times per game. The Bills tight end room has been a mess, combining for just 24 targets through six weeks, which amounts to a 10.9 percent target share between Knox, Tyler Kroft, and Lee Smith. The more comparable receivers would be Cole Beasley (3/32/1), Jarvis Landry (4/52/0), Curtis Samuel (5/38/0), and Russell Gage (3/34/0), who were all held in check against them. There have been three running backs who’ve finished with more than 16 carries against them (James Robinson, Josh Jacobs, James Conner), and each of them finished with at least 100 yards on the ground. Stefon Diggs: It’s been a great journey watching Diggs play with the Bills for six weeks, as he’s getting the targets he deserves and is doing work with them. The Titans did upgrade their slot cornerback in the defense at the trade deadline, making a move for Desmond King, who’s still learning communication in the Titans secondary, as he’s allowed 12-of-16 passing for 143 yards in his four games with the team. © Copyright 2010-2021 FantasyPros.com If you want to contemplate streaming him, it’s not a bad idea in 2QB leagues, as there’s been just two quarterbacks who’ve failed to throw at least 37 pass attempts over their last 10 games. They’ve done a good job not allowing the big play, which is not something Higgins is necessarily known for. Skreo on 18.23 with Tidak ada komentar We understand that many of you have plenty of players to consider on Thursday this week. When you look at fantasy points allowed to opposing skill-position players, the Texans have allowed the third-most, right behind the Falcons and Seahawks, two matchups we love to attack. Gore has also averaged a very respectable 4.1 yards per carry over the last two weeks and has received 33 carries in those games. Who knows, you may have hit a birdie, but you know what? Menu. The concern is that the Bills go back to their run-heavy ways and while it would limit Allen’s upside as a passer, it might get him some of his rushing confidence back, and relieve the pressure of throwing the ball 36.0 times per game. Some of them have gone straight. [12/10/2020] My Primer: Personalized Player Notes from Tags Every Week. Johnson isn’t a can’t-miss play this week, but he’s worthy of a mid-to-low-end WR2 start. They’ve been a pretty average team against the position, allowing 6.72 yards per target and a 67.8 percent catch-rate to tight ends, which are both in line with the league averages, but the volume has been slightly above average, as tight ends have seen 7.9 targets per game against them. They’ve allowed just 3.81 yards per carry, which is one of the lowest marks in football, but they’ve allowed a solid 6.56 yards per target, and have been tagged for a touchdown every 16.6 carries. Still want more? WRs Spread: Raiders -7.5 The Primer: Week 7 Edition (2020 Fantasy Football) ... Use the FantasyPros Lineup Optimizer to build winning lineups based on expert projections. RBs Or perhaps you have played before, but are trying a new postseason […] The competition has not been top notch, but that’s an impressive stretch for any team against any opponent. He now has 206 carries on the season, but just four of those carries have gone for 15-plus yards, so you kind of need him to get that high volume. It’s not a coincidence that Marquise Brown had his best game of the year last week, though much of his production came on one play. You get excited, right? Lead NFL Writer for FantasyPros and author of “The Primer.” Fantasy Football is life. He then proceeded to catch one pass in the next two games while seeing just six targets. The Raiders are also one of just five teams who’ve allowed opponents 29-plus points per game. Another downside is that Darnold has thrown the ball deep on just 9.7 percent of his attempts, while Joe Flacco threw the ball deep on 19.4 percent of his attempts. Shot at redemption for Carr? Derrick Henry: I told you winter was coming. Robert Tonyan: Despite already getting his bye week out of the way, Tonyan ranks 24th among tight ends in routes run. A.J. It’s been crazy-high efficiency or bust for Mayfield all year, as he’s topped 30 pass attempts just once. If you were to tell me Waller was going to get seven targets against the Falcons, I’d play him all over again. . There's "The Primer" and then there is everything else. The Primer: Week 2 Edition (2020 Fantasy Football) – FantasyPros. The Titans have seen 61.6 percent of targets go to the wide receiver position, which ranks as the fourth-highest mark in football. NFL Preseason. Sam Darnold or Joe Flacco: It doesn’t really matter who’s under center for the Jets; you’re not playing them. Don't miss this week's edition of The Primer, in which Mike Tagliere shares a heartfelt story about his father while taking his usual deep dive into every fantasy-relevant player in action this week: fntsy.pro/2oyQ0Ej. The 56 yards he posted against the Falcons was the second-highest mark of the season for him, so baby steps, I guess. Are you looking to contact Customer Support about a subscription or account related question? Outside of that, Beasley’s 4/58/0 was the best, so it’s clearly not the greatest matchup for him. The Texans have played against just one receiver who’s received 10 targets and that was Adam Thielen when he tagged them for eight receptions, 114 yards, and a touchdown. Johnson should be considered a rock-solid RB2 this week, but he’ll have a tough time finishing as an RB1 unless he starts getting targets. I’m comfortable playing Dobbins as an RB2 this week who comes with top-five upside if he returns to his workhorse role. 1 position with a big game in Week 7 against the Jets. If Akins is active, he’s the preferred option, but not a great TE2 option. Sure, Henry isn’t used much in the passing game, but the threat he presents has opened play action to Tannehill and the receivers. It does provide a level of uncertainty to his massive workload in the passing game they’ve been giving him, especially if he doesn’t get in a full practice (stay tuned for notes on that). Even worse, they’ve thrown a combined four touchdowns and five interceptions through six games. James Conner: Why haven’t the Steelers run the ball more? If he had to miss another week, Benny Snell would jump right into his spot in the rankings. We’ll be doing a livestream on our YouTube channel every Sunday morning from 11-12 EST, breaking down the inactives and letting you know which players benefit the most from them. If you’re willing to take some risk, Brown offers plenty of upside in one of the best matchups of the year. While he’s struggled to get consistent targets, the Jets have allowed a robust 9.28 yards per target to wide receivers, which certainly helps you feel better about starting Agholor in a pinch. He hasn’t been the most efficient tight end in the league while averaging just 5.5 yards per target, but he’s now scored in three of his last six games, and Ron Rivera singled him out during an interview this week, saying he’s had an “a ha” moment. They’re one of just two teams who’ve allowed more points to running backs than wide receivers (Panthers are the other). Gallup would be seeing one of Jimmy Smith or Marlon Humphrey most of the day, which is bad news no matter which one he gets, as Smith has allowed the fewest fantasy points per target in his coverage, while Humphrey has allowed just 370 scoreless yards on 60 targets in coverage. I describe explosion performances as 20-plus points for wide receivers and 15-plus points for tight ends. It stinks that we can’t trust either of them because tight ends have been targeted 28.3 percent of the time against the Bills, which is the second-highest mark in the league, so targets have been funneled there. Think of Gallup the way you do Marquez Valdes-Scantling, only with a worse quarterback. Week 16 is officially upon us which in turn brings us to the final version of The Primer for the 2018 season. link to original article. We knew that matchup didn’t favor McKissic’s role, but he was still on the field for 28 snaps. Andrews should be locked in as a high-end TE1 as long as he’s active and on the field. TEs He leads the NFL with seven 100-yard games on the ground, while Dalvin Cook is the only other running back with more than four such performances. [12/10/2020] My Primer: Personalized Player Notes from Tags Every Week. When you add in a matchup with the Ravens, that’s problematic. Regular price $19.99 $19.99. We did see Dalton take advantage of one matchup this year, though it was a great spot for him to succeed against the Vikings. We’re making this a thing. There’s likely to be a bit more pass attempts against the Steelers this week. No one remembers the holes that were easy. Just when we thought we could quit him, Green led the team with 11 targets last week, racking up eight receptions for 96 yards in a tough matchup against the Colts. That low number comes large in part because of the 31.1 pass attempts per game they see in total. With the target share he’s getting, Higgins should be in the WR3 territory, even if his matchup is the toughest among Bengals receivers, as he’ll only see Ward roughly 60 percent of the time. The only time they’ve faced fewer than 26 running back touches was… against the Jets, in Week 1 when Gore, Josh Adams, and Le’Veon Bell combined for just 18 touches. He’s seen a rock-solid 30 targets over their five games (6.0 per game), and even with Rodgers playing at an MVP level, Valdes-Scantling ranks outside the top-60 wide receivers. Henry isn’t involved much in the passing game, but it’s worth noting that running backs have received just 15.6 percent of targets against the Browns, which is the fifth-lowest mark in football. Aquí nos gustaría mostrarte una descripción, pero el sitio web que estás mirando no lo permite. The cornerback opposite Alexander would be either Kevin King or Josh Jackson, which have been two hit-or-miss cornerbacks, though mostly miss. Those worst fears were realized in Week 12 when he saw just two targets, but fortunately, he turned one of them into a touchdown. We’ve also seen fellow mobile quarterback Kyler Murray rack up 74 yards and a touchdown on the ground against them. I suppose the 4.34 yards per carry they’ve allowed isn’t anything to be scared of when it comes to Elliott’s floor. Some might say that it’s not a bad matchup, as Ward has allowed four touchdowns on 30 targets, but the 7.67 yards per target he’s allowed is a lot more static and predictable. Gibson had his breakout party last week, but he’s likely to disappoint in this game. Do you remember that shot Tiger Woods hit out of the sand at the World Golf Championship a few years back? He’s scored in seven of his last eight games, and it seems like he’s never actually in the end zone when he scores a touchdown, but rather breaking tackles and running after the catch to get them. No tight end has finished with more than 14.8 PPR points against them, but seven tight ends have been able to finish with at least 10.3 PPR points. To be clear, Gallup is the far superior player, but their roles are similar. We know the Ravens running backs aren’t targeted much in the passing game, but it’s even less likely they are against the Cowboys, who’ve seen a running back target on just 15.5 percent of pass attempts, tied for the third-lowest mark in the league. They’ve been below average on those targets, allowing a massive 10.0 yards per target, which ranks as the second-most in the NFL, but they’ve allowed just one touchdown, so when you factor in the limited targets, it drops them in the fantasy points allowed category. We thought it was due to Joe Flacco under center, but after seeing just five targets in Week 12 with Darnold under center, you have to wonder if they’re trying to move away from the slot receiver as the primary option. Cart 0. He’s had just one game with more than 11.8 fantasy points. When I got to my ball, which was on the next fairway over, I decided I was going to just go for it. There’s likely to be less volume to go around in this game, but Ebron should still remain in the low-end TE1 conversation. Watson will attempt to go toe-to-toe with the Packers, who’ll surely put points on the board against their defense, so go ahead and plug him in as a sturdy QB1 this week. RBs What are the different premium levels and subscription lengths? Consider him a high-end RB3 during the bye weeks. If you’ve ever played golf, I promise you have. The Cowboys have also allowed the fourth-most yards per reception (14.04) to wide receivers. He was on the field for 45 snaps while Griffin played 26 of them, though it was Griffin who was targeted three times while Herndon saw none. Smith certainly comes with some risk, but what tight ends don’t? If we look at the five wide receivers who’ve had nine-plus targets against Washington, four of them finished as top-24 options with three of them scoring 17.5-plus PPR points. Will they appreciate the opportunity as much as you do? But again, that volume has allowed nine running backs to finish with top-24 numbers against them. That’s not something they’re used to, but the passing game has been working, so there’s not much of a reason to force the issue with Conner. There have been 14 different running backs post top-30 numbers against the Raiders. Outside of Travis Kelce, they’ve allowed just one tight end to top 9.3 PPR points. He’s now seen at least 10 targets in 10 of his last 11 full games, which is volume you just don’t see in today’s NFL. Quarterbacks have averaged just 0.3 fantasy points per game less against Washington than they do versus their seasonal average, which makes them just the 15th-toughest matchup for quarterbacks when you factor that in. 36K likes. Regular price $13.99 $13.99. That may not seem like much, but that’s better than what Alexander’s allowed. Cart 0. Zero. RBs You’ve been hitting your sales numbers consistently with no recognition. Disclosures. There’s just one other team in the league (Colts) who’ve allowed fewer than 1.41 PPR points per target to the position. Again, Beckham gets top-tier cornerbacks in coverage, so it’s not apples to apples in real-life football terms, but in fantasy, points are points. Those times feel like everything is crashing around you. Meanwhile, you’ve been streaming every day for six months and have 10 viewers. Much of that comes from the fact that they’re under tremendous pressure all game, as the 9.5 percent sack-rate Washington has generated ranks second to only the Steelers themselves. Does it suck watching someone get an opportunity that you know they didn’t work hard for? Now onto a rematch with the Jets, a defense that held them to 41 yards on 18 carries in the first matchup, though they also added 39 yards and a touchdown through the air. A.J. Brian Poole is the Jets best cornerback and it’s showed in his coverage this year, as he’s allowed 16-of-22 passing for just 165 scoreless yards. Do you think his role succeeds against Sean McDermott’s scheme or what? I think many teams have taken that approach, and it’s led to a league-high 24 passing touchdowns against them (league-high 6.90 percent touchdown-rate). Regular price $13.99 $13.99. We still view Terry McLaurin as a valuable fantasy asset, right? Despite having more than double the red zone carries that Chubb does (33 to 16), Hunt has four rushing touchdowns to Chubb’s six. Elliott has now finished with fewer than 55 rushing yards in six of the last nine games. Joe Burrow: He’s now gone two weeks without throwing a single touchdown, which is not something you want to see with streamers. *Update* Mixon didn’t practice all week and has been ruled OUT for this week’s game. Are you looking to contact Customer Support about a subscription or account related question? The only way you’re going to be able to get the best out of those times is to relish in those moments. With two top-6 finishes in our accuracy competition, FantasyPros analyst Mike Tagliere (also known as Tags) is one of the most reliable experts in the fantasy football industry. 5 quarterback through six weeks and has now scored at least 20.9 fantasy points in three straight weeks. [12/10/2020] My Primer: Personalized Player Notes from Tags Every Week. Search. My Primer lets you view a personalized version of Mike Tagliere’s ‘The Primer’ article, just for your team. Davis will see a lot of Denzel Ward (he’s been ruled out), who is the most talented cornerback on the Browns, though he’s not the shutdown cornerback they thought they were getting when they selected him at No. Alex Smith: It’s a feelgood story with Smith, it really is. He appeared to be someone you could drop with the emergence of Higgins, but wait… there’s a twist in this story. The Steelers usually have a big pie among their skill-position players, so this is big for Ebron. It’s natural to be jealous of someone who gets something you’ve been working towards for a long time, especially if they just stumbled into that opportunity without much hard work. Ryan Griffin and Chris Herndon: You might be wondering if Herndon played in Week 6 after seeing the box score, but I can assure you that he did. The reason it’s hard to forget about him is due to the fact that he’s seen 28.6 percent of the Cowboys’ targets inside the 10-yard line, giving him plenty of touchdown opportunities. You may find it to be a funny movie, but there’s a real-life lesson to be learned from the movie “Yes Man.” You can continue to feel sorry for yourself and think that nothing goes your way. John Brown: After catching six passes in Week 1, Brown has been quiet on the stat sheet, as he’s totaled just eight receptions over his last four games combined, including two games with nothing to show that he even played. Chris Herndon: So much for potentially building some momentum, eh? On the season, he’s now thrown for 1,617 yards but with six touchdowns. The Raiders have seen just 53.6 percent of targets directed at wide receivers, which ranks as the third-lowest mark in the league. Whatever the case, it’s difficult to trust him until we see him get double-digit opportunities. Well, here’s the argument against playing Gibson as anything more than a mid-to-low-end RB2 this week: This doesn’t bode well for Gibson, who’s really padded his stats in two wins over the Cowboys. Through six games this year, they’ve combined for 198.2 yards per game. QBs When you combined this with the fact that the Cowboys have allowed the most yards before contact, you have the recipe for major success. NFL Preseason. This matchup says he should return to mid-to-high-end QB2 territory, and Carr has finishes as a top-16 option in 5-of-11 games this year. Cart 0. Marquez Valdes-Scantling: It seems we’ve gone back to the same old Valdes-Scantling who just can’t seem to make anything of his targets. When you mix his hesitance and the Steelers pass rush, bad things happen. Yeah, I was one of them. Compare your scores with the FantasyPros community and compete for the top spot in the Perfect Draft Leaderboard. *Update* Bengals top cornerback William Jackson is dealing with a concussion and will not play this week. While I love Hunt this week, he’s not going to produce that much. Jones has totaled 103 of the 173 opportunities to Packers running backs, so even if Jones sees his 60 percent average, he’d be around 20 opportunities in this game. *Update* Crowder is dealing with a groin injury and was forced to miss practice on Thursday. Now on to play the Browns who don’t have a shadow cornerback and simply play sides. From an efficiency standpoint, the Steelers have allowed a league-low 1.06 PPR points per target. The Packers defense would qualify as a plus matchup. The Browns have seen an average of 23.3 targets per game to wide receivers, which is enough for multiple receivers to be relevant. Breshad Perriman: Yes, he returned to the lineup last week and even saw eight targets, but there’s no way you’re going to trust him against a Bills defense that now has Tre’Davious White back. Josh Jacobs and Devontae Booker: We talked about Jacobs’ matchup last week and how it was tougher than most expected, but for him to total just 10 touches was something no one could’ve predicted. The perimeter duo of Malcolm Butler and Breon Borders have been competent, though not great in coverage, allowing 65-of-106 passing for 804 yards and three touchdowns. Regular price $13.99 $13.99. Chase Claypool: He hasn’t seen “Diontae Johnson-type targets” over the last five weeks, but he’s close. Mark Andrews: For now, we’ll assume that Andrews returns to the team, though it’s clearly a situation to monitor throughout the week. FantasyPros provides hard-hitting fantasy football analysis while keeping you entertained. Last week was the first one where the Browns allowed more than 57 yards on the ground to a running back, which is impressive considering they’d played Mixon, Ezekiel Elliott, and Jonathan Taylor in the first five games. Opponents have put just 17.1 points per game up on the scoreboard against the Steelers, which is not what you want to see from a low-scoring offense like Washington. As long as Mixon gets in a full practice this week, he should be in lineups as a low-end RB1/high-end RB2. Unless you’re a Seahawks fan, it probably doesn’t carry a whole lot of memories. Search. For what it’s worth, Brown would see Blessuan Austin the most in coverage, who has been better than Pierre Desir/Lamar Jackson, though not great. The matchup he’ll have against the Raiders will be primarily against Damon Arnette (who suffered a concussion last week) or Isaiah Johnson. He’s got a higher ceiling than most in the middling QB2 range, but he also has a lower floor. With Adam Gase seemingly refusing to see what he has in Perine, Gore should continue to see at least 12-15 opportunities, even if he does lack scoring upside. It may not sound like a lot but 7.1 PPR points has been a solid fantasy day for a tight end streamer in 2020. Cowboys vs. Ravens Betting Matchup. There have been just three times all season where a quarterback has thrown more than 37 pass attempts against the Browns and just three who’ve finished with more than 7.36 yards per attempt, so it feels as if there’s a low floor here, but Tannehill isn’t someone who ever relies on pass attempts to get things done. Considering how well he’d played to this point, we have to shake it off as a bad day, but it’s also worth noting teams have opted to go with the run against the Texans, and it’s hard to disagree considering their troubles slowing it down. J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards: Ravens running backs are averaging 1.68 yards before contact, which is the second-highest number in the league, behind only the Cardinals. They have faced the fifth-most weighted opportunity to running backs this year. My Primer lets you view a personalized version of Mike Tagliere’s ‘The Primer’ article, just for your team. Not only has efficiency been there (0.56 fantasy points per actual pass attempt ranks fourth-highest in NFL), and despite the run-heavy play selection, there are enough plays being run against the Texans (69.3 per game ranks second in the NFL) to allow for plenty of pass attempts. There have been 19 wide receivers who’ve seen at least five targets against the Jets, and 17 of them finished as top-48 wide receivers, so volume is really all we need for Ruggs to get into WR4 territory.
